Verifying your identity
Every STX account is verified before it can be used to trade. Identity verification helps us confirm who is using the account and meet applicable compliance obligations. Opening an account is subject to approval; see Accounts and eligibility.
How it works
When you apply, enter your legal name, date of birth and home address exactly as they appear on your identification. We may request personal information, identification documents or additional information before approving your application.
If we need a document, we will tell you how to provide it. Check your inbox, including your spam folder, for requests from STX.
My account is still pending review
An application can stay pending while verification is incomplete. Common reasons are:
- the details you entered don’t match your identification (a typo, a former address, or a nickname instead of your legal name);
- we asked for a document and have not received it; or
- a document was hard to read, expired or cut off.
If your account is still pending, contact Customer Support from the email address you applied with. Include your full name, and never include your password.
Do I need to verify again later?
Sometimes. We may request additional information or documents, for example after you change your name or address. See Changing your details.
