# Self-exclusion

> Exclude yourself from trading on STX for a longer period. How to set it up and what it means for your account.

Self-exclusion lets you stop trading on STX for a longer period than a [cool off period](https://help.stxapp.io/articles/cool-off-period/).

To self-exclude, open the menu in the app, select **Member Protection**, then **Self-Exclusion**, and choose a period from the options shown.

Self-exclusion cannot be reversed once it is set. It restricts you from trading on STX during the excluded period, so review your choice before you confirm it.
