# Portfolio value

> Your portfolio value is what your holdings on STX are worth at market prices, including your balance, positions and orders.

Your portfolio value is the current value of everything you hold on STX, based on market prices. It includes your [available balance](https://help.stxapp.io/articles/available-balance/), your open [positions](https://help.stxapp.io/articles/positions/) and the funds held for your open [orders](https://help.stxapp.io/articles/orders/).

Market prices change, so your portfolio value changes too. The value of a position at market prices is not guaranteed: you may be unable to close a position at that price. See [Prices and liquidity](https://help.stxapp.io/articles/prices-and-liquidity/).
