# Cool off period

> Take a short break from trading on STX with a cool off period. How to set one and what it means for your account.

A cool off period lets you take a short break. During the period you cannot trade, deposit or make other changes to your account.

To set one, open the menu in the app, select **Member Protection**, then **Cool Off**, and choose a period from the options shown.

A cool off period cannot be reversed once it is set. It restricts you from trading on STX until the period you selected ends, so review your choice before you confirm it.
